There are two words that spring to mind when I think about Armenia - "Inevitable" and "Indomitable". Indeed there are many enduring qualities you get a sense for when visisting, so with that in mind and a desire to create an educational travel platform and to share it with global travellers interested in Armenia, as a destination to visit, it was created. However the other consideration was to try to encourage tourism into Armenia that would not only benefit the economy, it would also benefit the people of Armenia involved in offering tourist services and jobs and services linked to tourism - this was also my wish.

 

So why these two words.  Let me explain. For anyone coming to Armenia for the first time knowing very little about the country, not having family, historical  ties, or for many  having an ignorance of what the country has to offer in terms of history, culture, cuisine and pure geography, there is almost an inevitability that you become to fall for the country and take it to your heart.

 

I have lost count of the number of foreigners, expatriates and returning diasporo that I have talked to about the country that have a genuine warmth and affection that becomes embedded in their psyche for Armenia.  So for  the countries and population that have little interaction with Armenia, and for that there are many (generally none diasporo countries) including large swaithes of Northern Europe, Asia, Africa  and the Far East there is much to discover and learn about this unique, beguiling and welcoming country.

 

Anyone who is aware of Armenia's recent history will understand the meaning of "Indomitable". For the country has retained its dignity despite a history of tragedy and a heavy loss.  During its recent history someone stepped inside its sole - but for that it has never  been broken or defeated.  Its  strength of will has always been one of  survival..... and so 100 years on since those events Armenia is now ready  for sharing its beauty, vitality and renewed soul to the next generation of global travellers.
